If they want a backup QB who wasn’t a good prospect who shined in week 18 against the bills 3rd stringers and it helps in any singular way for the patriots to get carter … by alllll means do it Cleveland lol

I do like the idea of a team drafting Milroe and using him for pure chaos

I don't like him as a day 1-2 prospect but I think there's potential for a lot of fun

I think there’s a lot of value in having a viable alternative to paying a boring bad old a lot of money to get QB play better than Tim Boyle if your starter goes down, and that’s what you’re trying to do with a true mid round QB pick

I agree with your assessment about the early second round QB being a huge oxymoron - not drafted with enough conviction to be a true starter but drafted with a pick where good teams are getting plus starters at other positions

  16. not gonna have time to get through it all before work but some nuggets from the CB sheet:

huge correlation between athleticism and success. Only two Tier 1 corners fell below a 9.3 RAS. 0 top three tier corners below a 3.4 RAS but there aren't any prospects this year that fall below that mark anyway. Though there are a few that fall below the 5% success rate mark - Dorian Strong, Jacob Parrish, Mello Dotson, and Zy Alexander.

As always, mostly about finding red flags than declaring players with strong testing will be good. That said, a 9.8+ is a good indication that a player will be decent and Darien Porter hit that mark.

Ya wanna talk about character? Higgins didn't murder his QB. Talk about a stand up guy. Because he should have. Twice.

Idk, I think you’re conflating a real problem with separation that shows up in their game [most of your list] and guys who met your thresholds for various reasons and produced anyways. The quote narrows your list to guys to put up a 1200 yard season in college and the list of guys who did it twice is just Tet and Harrison.

If the angle is “even Marvin Harrison struggled in his transition to the NFL a little bit as a big bodied, top of the line producer”, I’m fine with the McMillan caution, but most of it is like “wow he’s big and other big prospects were bad so he’s bad and I have some separation stats that basically just say that 6’4” dudes don’t separate as well on the whole to prove it”

I think I'm a little guilty of doing the thing where a prospect is so good for so long I kinda just start disliking them for no reason. Because man, Travis Hunter is actually really good.

  24. MHJ and Chase were given a lot of extra attention by defenses. A good pairing stat is contested catch rate too. If it's high it's a good indication (and backed up on film) that they're being relied on to make a play when one isn't there. If it's low, it's mostly a separation thing.

Was McMillan not? Idk what else I’d do with a defense if I’m up 21 on stinky Arizona and have them in obvious passing situations for most of the game
