Slim, I’m sorry, I’m not trying to pick on you, but there is no one who has less credibility in a “team X has an unfair financial advantage” than a Yankees fan lol

Is it against the rules to have 6 man infield and just have Tyrone taylor manning the entire outfield

  9. Despite all this the brewers will find a way to win 93 games

and get demolished in the postseason again

  14. anyways while owners should be spending way more of their revenue percentages on rosters the Dodgers also have this (from another baseball forum I frequent):
The Dodgers has an ironclad RSN contract that pays an average of $334 million per year through 2038.
They also don't have to share most of it through the competitive balance system like other big market teams - which is a massive financial advantage. Back when they were getting sold and going through bankruptcy, MLB agreed to cap their revenue sharing on their TV deal at something like $60MM in order to artificially inflate the franchise value for the sale. They didn't want a flagship MLB franchise selling for less than a billion. But that agreement has backfired now that LA signed that $335MM TV deal, because they are pocketing an extra ~$140MM a year that they should be putting into the revenue sharing pool.

Report: the Dodgers got a sweetheart deal limiting their revenue sharing liability

regardless a lot needs to change but maybe nothing will change - the Dodgers do having an aging roster maybe they'll flame out this year

I do think there's a few things that need to change pretty badly but I also think it's hard to make the arguments when other teams penny pinch because there'll always be the case of "just spend" until they do

Baseball is a little broken when it comes to free agency but yeah the Dodgers mega spending is like 10% of the issue at most.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Getting called bootlickers because other teams refuse to spend lmao never change

if you really think then signing Tucker and Diaz guarantees them a WS I don’t know what to tell you. Dodgers are old and constantly injured. All it takes is those injuries hitting late in the season and then they’re out. Hell, they barely could get any offense going multiple times in the playoffs.
