Vientos is gonna DH a lot and probably learn first base

I believe Mauricio and Acuna are gonna be the odd ones out and likely get traded. Mauricio can maybe play CF?

 

i'm a vientos hater bc i don't understand how you can be slow at 22 (when he was a rookie). ever since i clocked that, i've been a doubter

 

hes got a hustle issue and i dont think its a mental/lazy thing i just think the dude doesnt know how to run

The hardest thing for us fans is to analyze the POBO/GM position without knowing how handcuffed they are by ownership. And what orders they are given by ownership (i.e. trading Mookie).

Dombrowski, when he got the job, was given orders to turn the current team into a championship contender, which he did. The problem with Dombrowski is that he had to convince the ownership it was smart to extend veterans (specifically Sale) and it blew up in his face. Ownership saw that he severely weakened the farm system and the championship team’s core outside of a handful of players were older. Dombrowski wanted his contract extended but the ownership wanted to bring in someone to help build the farm system back up. So he was out. I think it was the right move. The problem was I don’t think Bloom was the right guy to put in charge, he should have been the GM with someone looking over him and grooming him for the head job in a few years, similar to what St. Louis did with him.

 

Can't blame Breslow for running the "don't spend money, invest in cheap resources" play when it's the owners calling it.

 

Nimmo and alonzo (6.3 war) replaced with bichette and semien (6.8 war)

Let's go!! That .5 war is all we needed to make playoffs last year.
