I don’t genuinely think they get Bichette, nor do I think they get Marte. I’ll guess they pivot back to Donovan or they give Suarez a couple years. Continually frustrating and baffling that they can avoid giving up these prospects if they just spent money

 

Neither of those guys (Suarez or Donovan) would make me excited. But I guess I’d rather sign Suarez for 1 year given those options.

 

I mean they don’t excite me either lol but clearly Bichette is not happening

 

I would offer Bichette the Bregman contract last year. A 3 year 40 million per year (with deferrals) with opt outs each year and see if he will bite. Or offer him the same deal the Cubs offered Bregman with an opt out after the 2nd year so he could be a FA at his age 30 season and after the new CBA contract is done.
