Genuinely hate this organization.

they’re going to go to arbitration, rightfully lose, go into this season knowing he’s gone at the end of the year, not pay him, not trade him, and either miss the playoffs or get knocked out early again.

just insane to treat your star player like this. I’m baffled and it’s so disheartening.

 

Looks like the rest of the fan duel sports network teams terminated their broadcast deals yesterday. I guess they can still renegotiate but it seems likely they move to mlb broadcasts like the padres and DBs and whoever else now. In that case they remove the blackout restrictions from mlb.tv right?

 

I think we’ve said something to the effect of “we are preparing to hand our rights back tot he league” so I don’t think we’re re negotiating at least

 

It’s insane this sport still operates this way

 

with the majority of arbitration cases settled now, it’d be cool if the stove could run red hot for the remainder of the offseason

manfred was on WFAN yesterday and one of the things he was asked was about the complete staleness of the offseason, and he said that during the last CBA there was a proposal for an offseason deadline of sorts but it was rejected by the players almost immediately. the overwhelming majority of players prefer this, feeling it works to their benefit. Manfred did say he will be approaching this again next CBA, because he feels its important for baseball to try and own some market share of sports media during december, when nba and hockey are still getting off the ground and the NFL hasnt quite reached the playoffs yet.

 

Idk how a deadline would work tbh. Teams just can't sign players at some point? Lol
