Rays, Cedric Mullins Agree To One-Year Deal

don’t hate the move and hope he can have a bounce back year with the rays, but the rays have gone from a dreadful outfield situation to potentially less dreadful, but crowded outfield situation from a left handed hitting aspect

Josh Lowe, Jake Fraley, Chandler Simpson, Richie Palacios (more of a utility guy) and Jake Mangum (switch hitter) likely all won’t stay as LHH outfielders, so I wonder if the Rays are ready give up on Josh or trade one of Simpson/Mangum while their stock is decent if not spectacular (i’d personally rather them take a longer look at simpson and see what he can develop into with more defensive refinement)

tldr: rays went from not enough mediocre LHH outfielders to too many mediocre LHH outfielders this offseason

 

Would be cool if the royals did anything

Verlander getting 300 wins as likely as Arraez being a hall of famer

 

He was 39th in all of the MLB in position players WAR (Fangraphs version) last year with 3 years of control left. He absolutely has more value than people give him credit for, especially with the OFer free agent class and teams needing OF help.
