2/2 in World Series championships since we got the boy this Shohei jersey at a padres game last October. Put it on him between the 4th and 5th innings before the Yankees game 5 meltdown. Magic status. Gonna starve him just a little bit for a year so it still fits for a threepeat

My optimism next year hinges on Fried and Rodon not having to throw a pitch in the playoffs

The sport isn’t broken simply because a team you don’t root for wins lol

I’m at least happy for Dave Roberts. Who is now probably a HOFer, shockingly enough.

Blue Jays were the better team for at least 7 innings but Dodgers are deep as hell and it paid off when it mattered the most. Great game overall, great series and the 2 right teams made it for sure.

Kind of weird thinking baseball is broken when this is the first time in 25 years that we have had back to back WS repeating champions. In that time frame all 30 MLB teams have made the playoffs with 23 of those teams making the WS with 15 different winners.

I don’t follow the other 3 major sports that closely but can the same be said about that?

  17. It’s broken because the brewers lost

Definitely not. In the last 25 years the:

NFL had the Patriots and Chiefs dynasties
NBA had the warriors vs. LeBron for like 6 years
NHL had multiple repeaters like the Penguins, Blackhawks, Lightning and now the Panthers.

Also all of those leagues have had bottom dwelling teams that stay dead in the basement lol

There needs to be a salary floor that at least makes small market teams spend some money. So many fan bases just being robbed of remotely competitive baseball. Or you have a team like the A’s who doesn’t even have a town. It’s crazy.

  21. I do think a cap would be more helpful than harmful and a lot of the people arguing against it are arguing against themselves. A floor comes with a cap. Both things would be good for the sport.

I believe from the bottom of my heart that baseball has not been better than it is now in a WHILE

But granted I don't think this is really a discussion. It's not like the Dodgers ran over Toronto. The Blue Jays spent a large amount of this series murdering the Dodgers and were 2-3 plays away from winning the whole damn thing and if IKF has a slightly larger lead on the bases then this likely does not come up again. There were not 0 opportunities for the Blue Jays to win and that's why I feel like the debate doesn't have a ton of good faith

  25. I agree the sport is cooking again in a way it hasn’t in a while. I do think a lot of that is due to some of the rule changes people would have been red in the face arguing against a decade ago too, though.
