Tampa Bay isn't moving forward with the new stadium and is going to restore the Trop for 2026.

 

Was this the expected outcome? Don’t know much about it but I thought a new stadium was all but a lock

 

After the hurricane it was kind of back and forth. I heard all differnt kinds of different options, fixing the stadium and still moving forward, not fixing it and moving forward and continue to play games at the Yankees spring training facility.

But I haven't kept up with it enough recently to know how long this has been on the table.

 

It seemed like this was coming since around December or so at least from my view. The other owners and Manfred are supposedly pretty pissed at Stu lol

yeah i read in the athletic and later mlb rumors that he’d be seriously pressured to sell the team if he didn’t come through with the team’s side of the stadium funding

evan drellich reportedly has sources confirming that there are multiple groups that are preparing bids to step up and buy the team
