I know every team has injuries and blah blah but imagine if they had Dobbins, Houlke and/or Crawford still healthy.

They are a fun team with some depth, which is a big reason why have maintained success this deep into the season. I wish Mayer was still healthy and I’m still hopefully Campbell will be up again contributing in September and October.

 

This is mostly why I didn’t want them to trade Priester even though they got a good return. You really cannot have enough depth. I do think they get Joe Ryan this winter and depth will be less of an issue next year

It was a logical trade at the time and in a few years it might look like a good trade depending on if Marcus Phillips turns into anything. Priester is having a nice season but he was 8th or 9th on the depth chart and had come off a bad spring training and fell out of flavor with the organization.

I want Joe Ryan badly but I’m not sure I’m trading Payton Tolle for him.

 

Yeah a pretty insane contrast from when I moved here in 2018, even though that was also the tail end of a pretty mediocre era for the franchise. It’s just built up to the point where fans don’t give a shit and won’t go. Also a mixture of genuine issues with downtown St. Louis and the usual suburban alarmist crap about being afraid of the actual city after dark that keeps people away

We are actually going to the game tonight with our daughter and a buddy of mine. Kinda bums me out it’s so empty when I remember going to Busch II on trips up here as a kid and it was packed to the gills every time. Oh well!

 

Also: because I mentioned it was insufferably hot (in addition to school just resuming) the last time Cardinals attendance came up a couple wks ago…it was a high of like 78 yesterday, was in the low 60s for most of that game lol. It ain’t the weather

 

Honestly I think an lower capacity with a young child is the best thing

 

Say what you will about the actual amenities or lack there of at Fenway park, but when they are good, it is fucking INSANE in there because of how small it is. Of course, that makes it so it’s crazy expensive to go to, so there’s that

 

Oh for sure, definitely easier for us and less intimidating for her haha
