Lol Yankees have the best right handed hitter ever and said "what if we assemble the actual biggest fucking slopfest of an infield that anybody has ever seen" Infuriating organization
They’re clearly a flawed team but they certainly have fight in them. If they can get another SPer, RPer (even if it’s a healthy Slaten coming back) and a 1B they might be able to make a solid run.
agreed. I think unlike 2023 and 2024, a wildcard spot is where they were expected to be at minimum at the beginning of the season. It’s time to start investing in the core. What I’m trying to say is that I need Joe Ryan and Ryan O’Hearn in Red Sox jerseys by Friday night
Suarez should already be a Yankee but teams are probably asking for too much cause they have to think the Yankees are desperate. Nothing is making this team a WS contender though. Next year should be an all in last shot with end of prime Judge and Cole and Fried at the top of the rotation They will still half ass it though and find an excuse to not sign Tucker
I think O’Hearn is likely. I can’t see them landing Ryan, unless they can swing a 3 way deal and ship Duran off. We will probably end up with a Charlie Morton type. I would love Charlie in Boston for personal reasons but he wouldn’t get me excited. I heard in the offseason there was a deal in place for Luis Castillo with Casas and Yoshida being sent to Seattle. Money was an issue on both sides, how much Seattle would take on for Yoshida and Castillo wanted to restructure his deal to offset losses from MA taxes. Also watching Schwaber the last 3 games really makes me miss him. Not enough people talk about Bloom letting him walk and then a year later sign Yoshida to a bigger deal.
I was admittedly against the Castillo deal just because I like Casas a lot, but obviously in retrospect it would’ve been nice to get him. Agreed about Schwarber, though, immediate fit, immediate fan, would be blasting. Home runs to the moon night after night, seemed like an obvious DH signing, but what can you do I guess
It drives me crazy to keep hearing Red Sox GMs saying they want flexibility at the DH spot when the franchise employed David Ortiz for 14 years.
