Hm conflicted here because personally I think anyone who doesn’t understand the difference between leverage index and win probability added but posts about it nonetheless is an idiot BUT anything that dispels the jUdGe BaD nOt ClUtcH narrative is also fine by me

Leverage index doesn’t have to do with the outcome of an event it only is concerned with the situation: down 2, 8th inning, 1 runner on, 2-2 count, etc. that situation is definitely higher leverage than the same situation in the third inning but it’s not hard to think of a lot of higher leverage situations either. And it doesn’t care that it’s 2025 Judge at the plate either, would be the same for Martin Maldonado up there.

tl;dr people (not you the twitter guy) assume anything they don’t understand is wrong and biased
