Right—that’s exactly correct. Breslow inherited one hell of a system that obviously was very lackluster coming out of the Dombrowski era. That’s what Dombrowski does haha. I do wonder whether Bloom has learned more about the decision making part of the job and will be better going forward. My comment was at least 40-50% in jest as I actually am genuinely excited about him being at the helm. Mozeliak’s method is stale and I think hes almost outright admitted that in comments to the media. So I’d be excited about anyone else but Bloom seems like a good get. Maybe he’s learned something’s. And in all fairness ordering someone to begin their tenure leading a club by trading Mookie is a tough tough ask. But it’s undeniable he got fucking no one back for Mookie in the end lol
I am very curious how Bloom operates without Sam Kennedy/FSG breathing down his neck. He did a great job with the farm and was clearly a smart guy. Those trade deadlines were fuckin brutal though. Especially last year. They had been playing really well and deserved reinforcements, but you gotta pick a direction and do more than just two middling relievers (which admittedly was a need but still).
Catching up on the thread; this was pretty rude and I think the mods should force shea to apologize to cobes
