First is a lot easier than third but yeah the roster construction is still very very bad if that has to be considered

Having no real 1B options is not ideal

 

Kris Bubic is on my fantasy team

So are a couple Royals hitters

They have been so important to me

 

i've been doing a franchise with the royals and i suck ass with Bubic for some reason. but leading the league in Ks with Ragans and Lugo

 

also way better at pitching than batting

 

I mean there are countless examples of guys moving from 3rd to 1st and it being fine. I think Devers could probably be playable at 1st. I don’t blame him for not wanting to move there in the middle of the season after already moving him and saying he’s a full time DH. I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays 1st next year.

My issue is that the Sox are apparently shopping Casas in the off season so if they did trade him who the hell was going to play 1st? I’m guessing that they would have signed someone like Justin Turner as a stopgap. But if the front office was down on Casas at all why not just work Devers out at 1st in ST a bit just for position flexibility. If they did that maybe Devers would be willing to move and the Sox could bring up Yoshida and/or Anthony and put out the best players on the field instead of having to play Rafaela and whoever at 1st now.
