once I generally hope good things for the rangers, mariners and rays those are all good teams that I like
that’s fuckin sick and apparently a pretty penny according to ebay! I love heritage red autos so much
I’ve never gotten an auto before so I did a double take and didn’t even realize it was a red auto. Super stoked on it.
I assume the numbering is on the back? sometimes the hand numbering out of /75 or /80 or whatever is on the front, sometimes the back
the main players are Topps and Panini topps is MLB licensed, so the players are shown wearing their actual jerseys, team logos, etc Panini is unlicensed, so the players are photoshopped to be wearing blank/generic jerseys and the team name is described as the city (Los Angeles) instead of "Los Angeles Dodgers" but Topps operates a lot of brands — Topps Flagship, Bowman, Stadium Club, etc., but it's all Topps and all as official as it gets the main ways of getting into baseball cards is by either going to the store (Target, Walmart, etc) to buy some packs or a local card shop and buying packs; the other route is to simply buy the specific card you want off ebay. ripping packs is great because you might find something really really cool, but you also might get fuck all. it's a gamble in a way
Skenes vs Yamamoto tonight should be electric but now that i've said, they'll both give up six runs by the 3rd inning
I thought it was like football so maybe I am safe I’m a pokemon card guy so I know a little bit is there any particular packs to look for
it sort of depends what you're looking for Topps Chrome is generally the most desirable, but Topps Series 1 and Topps Series 2 are also desirable — collectively they make up what collectors call "Topps Flagship" since they are sort of the base line of cards: they include the standard rookie cards that people chase the most personally, i really like Topps Stadium Club because it has cool photography, but it generally has less collectability than Topps Chrome, Series 1, and Series 2, but that only matters if you care about resale value what @Joe4th pulled is from Topps Heritage, which is a release that is harkening back to decades past, hence the name "Heritage" Bowman, Bowman Chrome, and Bowman Draft are all about prospects and they often go for absurd prices because everyone is gambling on some 18 year old being the next Trout, Harper, etc your best bet for finding something right now is 2025 Topps Series 1 as it's the first major release of the year. 2025 Topps Heritage just release so is probably also fairly easy to find
this guy on youtube is a good watch for information about the cards without being too annoying like some content creators opens pretty much everything and usually gives you rundown of what to expect—has a really comprehensive video from a month or two ago about 2025 Topps Series 1 breaking down the odds and whatnot edit: watching the first minute, a good distinction to know is "retail" vs "hobby" boxes/packs retail is anything that can be gotten at Target, Walmart, etc. usually smaller boxes called blaster boxes "hobby" refers to packs/boxes bought from local card shops (aka hobby shops) or from Topps directly. they are more expensive boxes, often $100+ but come with a guaranteed hit of some kind, usually an autograph
