This article has been imported from chorus.fm for discussion. All of the forum rules still apply.

Each year I put together a small gift guide post full of things that I think make great gifts and are a lot of fun to give or receive for the holidays. Everything on the list is something I’ve used, enjoyed, and recommend. I have recommendations posts for software, headphones, and miscellaneous stuff around the house, so the things on this list will be more focused on stuff not included in those posts and geared toward things I’ve come across in the past year or so and think would make good gifts.

I used my Amazon affiliate link when the product showed up there, which gives our website a slight percentage back if you make a purchase and helps fund our continued existence.

If you’d like to get me a gift, becoming a supporting member or gifting another user a supporting membership for a year would mean the world to me. And, if you’re looking for something in just about any price range with a Chorus.fm or AbsolutePunk.net logo on it, check our merch shop.

HELIMIX 1.5 Vortex Blender Shaker Bottle
As part of my “be healthier in 2025” kick I started increasing my protein intake again. I’ve used lots of different blender bottles over the years and this has been my favorite.

OXO Good Grips Fridge Beverage Mat
Perfect for organizing cans in the fridge. Look, I’m in my forties, things like this excite me.

    Dutchman’s Popcorn Coconut Oil
Last year I recommended popcorn powder and someone turned me on to this coconut oil. It’s been my go to popcorn topping all year.

    Goodr Sunglasses
These have become my go-to sunglasses for running. Perfect weight and fit with at a great price point.

    Books
Some books and graphic novels I enjoyed this year include: The Last Ronin, The Way Around, and Fahrenheit-182,

    Vinyl Records
Just kidding, there’s no way you’ll find those under $25 anymore.

    TwelveSouth PowerBug
I blogged about these a few weeks back and I only have more positive feelings now. They are perfect for a kitchen or bathroom.

    Casper Sleep Glow Night Light
I like the aesthetic of these motion activated night lights. And they’ve saved my knees from banging into shit in the middle of the night.

Sofirn BLF LT1 Anduril 2.0 Rechargeable Camping Lantern (Amazon Link)
I purchased one of these after a recent power outage. It’s small but extremely bright. And after having read a bunch of reviews from flashlight nerd forums saying it’s great, I’m impressed. A nice addition to an emergency kit.

    Lutron Claro Smart Light Switch
I love Lutron products. They’re just rock solid.

    Website Subscriptions
These days there are many websites and newsletters with membership programs. The holidays are a great time to gift one of these memberships to a friend or family member, and trust me, as someone who runs one, it goes a long way to helping your favorite website as well. Some of the websites I recommend checking out their membership packages include: MacStories, Relay.fm, SixColors, Last.fm, and ATP.

    Over $100

    Assouline Coffee Table Books
Expensive but very pretty. Hannah has one of the fashion designer ones and I’ve had my eye on one from the James Bond collection for a while.

    Justin Wine
Great wine. Great packaging. Makes for a very cool presentation.

    Any Amount

Ask your friends and family to donate to a cause you support. I recommend places like the Oregon Food Bank, EFF, or checking out Charity Navigator for various recommended charities. Also, Madi Diaz’s cover album of Enema of the State donates to Defending Our Neighbors, so that’s a win-win pick-up.

Subscribers to the weekly newsletter will probably recognize some of these items because I write about them throughout the year when I find something I like and enjoy. So, if you like reading things like this, plus getting my weekly thoughts on music and entertainment, you should signup.
