I've actually never visited their website unless linked to a specific article. But you could say something similar about this website, it used to be all about pop punk and emo, now it's everything and includes a ton of country, which never would have happened awhile back.

I was playing some of my vinyl's over the weekend and just found a download code for From Indian Lakes, Absent Sounds (2014). I already have the mp3s if anybody wants the link and code, hit me up.

Anyone else just NOT been feeling any albums they've listened to this year? Last year was so good, but nothing has blown me away so far this year that demanded countless relistens. I've listened to a couple hundred albums so far this year but really nothing has impressed me. I always try to find new stuff so it's not a case of "there's nothing good out there and I haven't listened". Oh I've listened...just nothing grabbing me. Maybe I'm in a crisis mentally lol

Maybe you're just getting older. I sure have a harder time relating to and liking new stuff. There's been a lot that I've enjoyed, but none that I've really loved.

How do we feel about “all too similar” album artwork?
This one from a new artist called Role Model seemed like a carbon copy of Stabbing Westward’s self-titled…

So we should not forget the greats, 10/3 thrice, and 8/22 deftones

Maybe slow down with how much you’re listening to? You’ve already listened to a couple hundred albums this year so I’m guessing you haven’t spent a great deal of time with any of them before moving onto the next one. Some of the best albums are the ones that grow on you

For me on a bum year I just with equal intent find something new to me that may not have come out that year, or I somehow missed in life. I think year to year expectations is gonna disappoint you especially when old favorites release new stuff you don’t connect with.

this summer is a country summer for me and lots I haven’t touched there so it’s all kinda new to me, even the stuff from 20 years ago. I recognize this is a 2025 music thread but just how I make peace with a similar disappointment I felt with music in my life and how I got outta that.
