wasn't supposed to make it to 2025, joke's on you we still alive. Here's last year's list, which had 224 albums on it. That was down slightly from the year before, and one goal I have year is on resonance and repetition.

Musical Goals for this Year:

• Listen more times to fewer albums. I am wayyyy too stuck in the 'New Music Friday' mode of picking out 7 albums to listen to every week and hearing them one time. Trying to set a personal cap of around 200 albums this year and listen to everything that I don't hate at least twice.
• Revisit my "life catalog". Building off my vinyl project, hoping that I can spend a lot more time going back to past favorite albums. This won't show up on my list, but it will probably impact the number of new discs!
• Find some weird stuff. I've been gravitating to singer-songwriters a little too much, I'd like to be able to blow some socks off.
• Talk more about music I like with people. It's easy to post on a web forum or an Instagram Story, would really like to have more IRL in-depth discussions.

Even though their last two haven't been my favorites, especially Gore, i'm looking forward to what Deftones does next. Seeing Thrice looking rejuvenated during their Beggars shows makes me excited to what they do next year, they said they didn't want to rush and release another album so them finally writing and releasing something next year has me hyped. I'm hoping Radiohead surprises us with something next year and i'm looking forward to new Spiritbox

According to stereogum, all of the artists in there have at the very least hinted at new music and some are 100% confirmed releases with dates already. A mixed bag but still good place to start with this year.
