If the NHL adopted the gold plan rangers would have the first overall. Asshole ass team fucking winning in garbage time.
5 teams in the west with less points than the Capitals make the playoffs while they miss with 95 points oooof
It's hard to feel bad about the Stars regular season but it's also easy to be critical. We had some strong stretches, won a lot of games when we were beat up to all hell. At the same time, despite those injuries, we've had some abysmal shot counts, lots of wasted empty net opportunities to close games, and weak defense. Jim Nill didn't go crazy at the deadline and admittedly his trades were low-risk but they did still end up having extremely minimal if not negative impact. (I'll definitely say I was wrong about Myers being a decent pickup for the cost.) We are still a lot more beat up than a lot of teams and still creating good wins despite that, having a lot of young guys step up when they need to. And Wyatt and Robo have been insane. Mikko I'm expecting to step up in the playoffs like he did last season. The goalies have been up and down but I'm not worried about them given the types of shots they've had to face. But we've gotta get to attacking more and gotta improve how we play on defense to create those additional opportunities. No idea what to expect from round 1 without Hintz and likely without Heiskanen. I do think our coach had a good first year but we absolutely need to adjust our defensive coaching, a new defensive assistant feels mandatory.
Haha holy crap I knew they had a bunch of RW, but the blues would be 4th in the west if that was the case.
We could have had a jazz guitar major and analytics pioneer, instead we’ll have another decade of Kyle from Chicago whiffing on every draft pick and signing LTIR veterans to reach the cap floor
I hate the idea of 3 points for a win because it would totally fuck up all previous points records. I could do with 1 point for a shootout loss but 0 points for an OT loss. And maybe go back to 4-on-4 OT.
