If you told me at Thanksgiving that the Sabres would be in a firm position in late February (with just over 20 games left) to finally make the playoffs for the first time since 2011, I would have told you crack must be one hell of a drug Dunno where this team came from this season but I'm starting to have faith in the Sabres again
Buffalo, Detroit, and Montreal all having great seasons has been so refreshing. You have to imagine the league is also pretty happy with three strong hockey markets like that back amongst the best.
Hoping the sabres make it. I can’t imagine a 15 year playoff drought. The Ducks are at 7 and I’m pulling me hair out over whether or not they make it this year
Went through it with the Bills as well with their 17 year drought. As a Buffalo Sports fan of 31 years all I know is disappointment, playoff heartbreak, and decade-plus long playoff droughts
Looking at the standings and somehow Utah haven't played to a single shoot out scenario all season long. Kind of wild this deep into the season.
my supervisor is a proud flames fan so he decided to take his dad to go watch the oilers/sharks game he got a hell of a game for sure
Stankoven has had an up and down year as a sophomore playing his first year at center, especially because he’s been forced to be 2C with Kotkaniemi refusing to be more than a 4th liner. Hall - Stankoven - Blake have taken over tonight’s game in a way you rarely see. Much rather move for an O’Reilly or Trocheck instead of a bigger swing for the fences move like Thomas or Pettersson.
travesty that in this joke of a league one of Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota will be out in the first round
Just coming to say I think the blues considering moving Thomas is so stupid and I’m going to be so mad/upset if they do
it makes no sense, 26 y/o high end centers are the types you build around. If they’re trading him, they might as well tear it down to the studs
Seriously, and especially ones that have 5 more years at $8.1M. After all the stupid post cup moves they’ve made, this one would make by far the least amount of sense.
My text group has been saying the same thing for the last two days. You can trade Kyrou or Binnington but absolutely not Thomas. the rumor of buffalo offering 3 first picks isn’t a terrible return though considering buffalo usually ends up near the bottom with a high pick. But I still not understand why you would. Thomas wants to be in STL too.
JR says they are holding onto Binnington until summer. DownGoesBrown on Puck Soup said that he thinks they are using Thomas to get people to call but have no real desire to trade him and I hope that's accurate.
The rumored returns are fine but rumored returns always end up less than the rumored return. If Thomas goes, literally every vet or player besides Holloway, Broberg, Neighbours, Snuggs, Dvorsky, Hofer should be moved as well (unless I’m forgetting some one glaring). I actually really like Kyrou but for whatever reason they seem hell bent on moving him too, only reason I didn’t name him.
Sometimes you think you know ball until the TDL roles up and then you realize teams are trading for players that didn’t exist until the second the trade gets announced.
