Money is whatever tbh. I can convince anyone with money to spend a lot of it. The hard part is making them feel like the experience was worth the money they spent, and thus make them want to come back here over every other elite restaurant in the city and that’s what I’m really proud of. We make more off of repeat customers than one-time big spenders.

like, our highest spending / most repeat customer bought a $1500 bottle of Opus One from our old Somm - dude CLEARLY has insane amounts of money - but he only tipped for the food. And that Somm tried to tell me it’s normal for people to not tip on expensive wines.

Well same guy has been served by me 4 times since and he loves me - last time he came (two days ago) he was hosting two people that don’t even like wine and I was selling him $20 wines by glass instead. We have a $50 Cabernet but he doesn’t like dense wines, he likes juicy wines. They also wanted 3 happy hour burgers instead of anything on our more expensive dinner menu.

Instead of price gouging him and trying to talk him into spending more cause he has money, and trying to impress him with my knowledge (rich people often don’t care how much you know, they only care if you give them something they like)… I just recommended him the RIGHT wine and he tipped me just as much on that burgers / wines by glass table as he tipped the ex-Lead Somm on that Opus One table.

 

I dont think the movie is pretentious but a good 90 times out of 100, a "pretentious" movie is more likely to be a Forrest Gump type of popular movie than anything that usually gets described as pretentious

 

That’s a fair point, but I’m more so describing movie *viewers* who think they’re too good for a quintissential movie culture landmark like Forrest Gump haha

 

I know you said you are healthy and had your kidneys checked but I say this every time someone mentions peeing a lot… that was happening to me and turns out it was diabetes. I’m sure if they checked your kidneys they checked for that but I just always like to raise awareness just in case

 

Man I don’t want to think about me possibly having diabetes lol.

I never am hydrated enough and when I try to drink “enough water” I pee like every 90 minutes. It’s especially annoying when I’m trying to sleep after a night where I had a couple drinks or a day where I was outside / playing music / active and drank more water. I sometimes can’t get REM sleep cause I keep waking up to fucking pee. It actively makes me drink less fluids than I should before I go to bed / overnight when I wake up, cause I’m not trying to keep having to pee lmao

is it possible my body just does this cause I never drink enough water, so the times I do, it just goes right through me? Will I acclimate if I start committing to the doctor recommended 6-8 eight ounce glasses a day? Idkkkk

 

Man, i have anxiety issues around that.

it's always an anxiety thing for me. like my bladder muscles stay tight and dont relax as one way my anxiety acts out physically.

 

When my sugars are out of control, I drink water like crazy because it’s constantly coming back out. So I know when I have a crazy thirst for water specifically something is up. Yet when everything is under control I have such a hard time drinking water. It’s crazy

 

yea that was definitely a concern too. afaik though its just from hydrating religiously, im prone to migraines if i dont. causes me some grief sometimes, have been accused of time theft at work for pissing too much.

and if im drinking beer or liquor forget about it its over lol
