Your kids are either older than i think or im about to be angrier than I was lol

 

My kids are generally good people who do believe good things and understand how shitty Trump and the alt-right are but it's those little ways that the alt-right is DESPERATE to pry their way in to impressionable brains, and then I see people in their school who are all the way in and it's awful

 

They're 12 and 11

 

I thought 12 and 10 but its possible that a birthday has occurred since thats how the passing of time works.

 

That is exactly what has happened, a June birthday

I got an email reminding me of all my AAdvantage benefits ahead of my trip next week and all of the benefits are "you can spend more money on other things" and I'm like that seems like it's benefitting exactly 1 party in this transaction

Watching my kids grow up, the 1 thing I wish I knew when I was growing up is how rebellious of an act it is to 1. love people, 2. be healthy, and 3. be educated. Like it's corny to be like "it's such a gift to have an education" but holy hell when the world is trying SO hard to take it away, it sure is apparent what a gift it is. And that is real rebellion and not being ~edgy~ or whatever

 

There's a multitude of reasons Im glad I dont have kids. Raising them in this current climate is probably at the top.

 

Also, I like the freedom to be in only my boxers once im home from work

 

Part of me feels that way, the other part of me is grateful that my kids can be there to be a positive force now and eventually and that it's not just the shittiest people on the earth having kids to be even shittier. I think both thoughts are totally valid though because it's fucking stressful and scary

A guy I worked with had to take multiple days off after Chester died because he was that shooken up

Idk how people live in the south man the heat + humidity is absolutely disgusting

We got enough rain here to flood multiple parts of central Texas and now we're getting these temperatures and it kinda feels like it could've happened the other way around

My dad died recently and my job regularly gives panic attacks, so I’m probably gonna sit out the “when’s the last time you cried” convo lol
