this is besides the point obviously but the higher end epiphones are cheaper than the low end gibsons and are better imo people get hung up too much on the Made in America of it all

 

not saying dustin’s gibsons suck lol just saying generally

 

I agree with the principle but I do really hate every Epiphone Les Paul I’ve touched in the past 10 years but their high end SGs have been sooooooo good

I love my Gibson Les Paul! But yeah for a while I didn’t like Les Pauls so it could be the case and mine could be an outlier

 

Hallmark store is one of the few brick and mortor locations I can guarantee I will visit at least once a year

I’ve definitely played a ton of MIA Strats that are tremendously worse than MIM ones

had an epiphone sg for like 7 years. loved it

 

Had an Epiphone Les Paul that got stolen. Still big mad about it.

 

my MIM jazz bass beats the brakes off any other fender one i’ve played

 

I am thankful I don’t have a crazy expensive hobby like playing instruments but I wonder if my beer purchases over the last 15 years adds up to as much or more than what some of you spent on these guitars.

 

Me starting to buy guitars was gifting myself sobriety presents from cutting out alcohol/cigarette costs

 

in general the difference for fender is negligible at best. the two factories (made in mexico and made in california) are like an hour apart using the same goods lol. unless you are getting like a fender custom shop or a very specific model there is no reason to get american made fender

with gibson it’s at least like oceans in between the factories. it’s still dumb and you should just get the best guitar regardless but at least there they are using completely different parts and stuff

 

Blew my mind when I realized the factories were JUST barely across the border from one another hahaha

 

I'll definitely need some help when I finally decide to pick up guitar again. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and they just opened a brand new big Guitar Center pretty close to me.
