hawaii was great when we went. Highly recommend Maui and staying on the east side of the island instead of the west side where all the tourist shit is. We were close to the road to hana start and mount haleakala and it wasn't a bad drive to go to the docks where the whale tours started in Lahaina.

I want to hit up a couple other spots in the US (alaska, glacier np, yosemite, tetons, yellowstone, etc) before we go back again
