Cleaning semi trucks

 

1) working for a dying telecommunications company for $10 an hour and doing actual trade jobs, phone sales and legit office secretary work, often having 12-13 hour workdays, for that money. In northern Virginia. The most dreary, corporate, congested traffic suburban/industrial area on earth

2) GameStop assistant manager for $10 an hour. Retail just sucks having to work overnight for release days & Black Friday, and having to install all the marketing displays, and having bratty kids know more than you about the shit you’re supposed to sell, serving 90 customers in an hour sometimes, having to fucking stand around for hours and do nothing sometimes, having only 30 minutes for lunch and just barely having enough time and money to get a damn $5 foot long subway sandwich next door

3) selling hearing aids over the phone for okay money but not enough to pay my bills unless I wanted to lie to and price gouge old people who have no money. Most phone calls were 15-20 minutes of some script you had to go through… and they expected you to just ignore when old people say they have no retirement and only get a social security check, and have 6 other more pressing health problems than needing a hearing aid.

4) my first job, working both drive thru order taker and drive through barista at the busiest Starbucks in Maryland for like $8.50 an hour. this is easily the job I worked the hardest and fastest at of all my jobs. They should pay SBux employees $40 an hour for this fuckin labor

5) my second job, working an hour away from home at an Olive Garden where lunch shifts would often make you like $20 and then send you home, despite working hard for every single table refilling their salad soup bread AND drinks repeatedly for a $10 per person check and $2 tip per person

 

it was through a company that was 100% a pyramid scheme situation lmao. moved to San Antonio with my ex while she was going through nursing school and what I applied and got is NOT what I walked into. I basically worked like 2-3 weeks without getting paid because they kept sending me to the low income neighborhoods lol. absolutely miserable moment in my life after graduating.
