I have never encountered a wedding that cared what guests wear. Obviously groomsmen and bridesmaids have set colors but otherwise never been asked to wear a certain color.

 

It’s a good way to unify the guests in something, which is talking shit about the couple for the rest of the day

 

I always wear a white tux to weddings

Everyone. And not like, oh, accent with some of these colors. Like, I checked with the groom and I can't even wear a black suit with a mustard yellow tie. I have to wear the damn dumb and dumber suit

I don't go to many either. I wasn't sure if maybe this is a new thing, but most people I've talked to do not think it is

 

I’d be annoyed if it made me have to go out and spend money in order to fit the dress code

Color coding what your guests wear is kinda crazy. Only thing I’d ever say about the guests attire is to wear more formal clothing, no shorts wearing mfers (have seen this at a few weddings)

I was a groomsman in a wedding where the brides brother in law wore a trump hat during everything other than the ceremony. He got into a fight with one of the servers over it.

 

Our wedding was super laid back. We had one person in shorts at the reception, I think. Did not care

Yeah I should say if a super laid back vibe is what you want, nothing wrong with that. I just think if the invitation says formal attire or something like that you should respect the couples wishes
