Those are basically toxicity b-sides right?

 

I hate when bands do double or triple albums, their follow up to Toxicity should have been a tight album with 10 bangers nothing more nothing less

-Though often reported in the media as a collection of B-sides and outtakes, the band insisted that the Steal This Album! material is of the same quality as the tracks that made it onto Toxicity. Vocalist Serj Tankian has said that the songs were left out of Toxicity "because they did not fit the overall continuity of the album". In May 2009, drummer John Dolmayan revealed that the album is his favorite System of a Down release.[6] Similarly, Tankian also called the album his favorite System of a Down album in a 2012 AMA on reddit.[7]-

 

I listened to toxicity and I was like this is mad fire

and then I heard mezmerize and I was just like meh it kinda dragged on a bit

Toxicity is indeed just peak song writing and perfection of their sound. Song writing was a great mix of metal and poppy, riffs were top notch, drumming top notch, Serj’s voice is at its peak and they used Daron as a vocalist jussst the perfect amount compared to the self titled and the albums after

that being said I do like their entire discography

 

First three albums have very few tracks I skip on each. Mezmerise/Hypnotize had more songs between them that I didn’t dig, and lyrics that somehow seemed more eclectic and nonsense-like than the first three albums had lol
