We then tried to time everything to not have too much time to kill at the airport and we still have 2 hours

If I try maybe

 

I try and get to the airport and through security at least 2.5 hours before my flight boards. I'd much rather sit at a bar for a few hours than be sprinting around Home Alone style

 

at LGA or JFK yeah, i'm there 2 hours in adv. - but if im flying out of the regional airport thats 10 mins. from my apartment, I can show up at 10am for a 10:45 flight and probably still have time for a beer and a shot.

 

i love watching runners at the airport with their rolley bags and backpacks swinging all over the place. makes me feel better about myself.

 

I will arrive early to the airport to ensure I get on in time with no stress, however, I can’t control my first flight being delayed and making my chances of getting on the connecting flight be very, very slim. And in those cases my ass has to be speeding to get on it, as of course the terminal gets changed last second and is across the airport

 

And that’s hard to do!
