As a person whose job technically is sales. I never wanna be that guy. “Objection handling” is bullshit.

at my job at least, you sell more and make people more happy if you sell by adapting to what people actually want and make it feel like they’re leading / setting the parameters of the discussion. Trying to convince people of shit they don’t want usually doesn’t work and is annoying (especially in service when people are there to celebrate not haggle), and when it does they usually resent you for it, and don’t tip awesome like they do when you recommended something that was right in line with the experience they wanted.

 

What if I guy just went door to door selling cases of beer? I would buy that
