ICE can come after anybody if they’re allowed to take away your identification and hold you in a secret location without access to a lawyer.

 

It’s really not hard to imagine them trying to expand that scope to political dissidents and not just immigrants. Or following that German footprint of declaring certain American citizens are no longer citizens. They’re already doing it even to legal immigrants who literally have proof they are allowed to be here. They’re already trying to cancel birthright citizenship.

If they’re willing to arbitrarily take rights and due process away by an inch what makes you think they won’t continue and do it by a mile? this is a litmus test to see what they can get away with and so far Trump supporters are still cheering

think bigger than your false sense of security about what the rules of deportation and imprisonment are NOW. Everything written into law - *everything* - can easily be changed with a Congress AND judicial branch that’s rigged by the Trump administration.

 

@Randall Mentzos If you are genuinely worried and feel like a gun is the right answer. Get a permit to carry and legally buy a gun and get trained. Getting caught with an unregistered gun will not be in your favor at all.

The point is to hide it and never get caught and never ever use it or even remove it from the safe that it’s locked in unless we reach a breaking point where good faith legality and due process no longer exists. Last resort / worst case scenario type shit. I am of the mindset that the worst case scenario of the American empire collapsing into total oligarchic, technocratic fascism is a distinct possibility based off the direction we’ve been heading. It’s naive to assume we can make all the same mistakes as previous fallen “democratic” empires and it won’t happen to us.

If it gets that bad. Then at that point of government corruption, they can declare whatever you’re doing or saying is illegal for any reason anyway so it’s a moot point. And if it really does get that bad, I don’t want the government to be able to know about and track my gun and say I’m not allowed to have it anymore.
