Watching a documentary about Bubble Boy

 

Josh Hines-Allen got peer ranked at #63 in NFL top 100 in a down year where our defense sucked and his numbers weren’t as good. That’s pretty validating. I swear the only reason he hasn’t had more 10 sack seasons is cause he’s usually been our only defensive weapon so it’s been easier in those years to scheme against him in particular lol

last year he definitely at least had Travon Walker’s help but our back end defense (and our way too over aggressive play calling) was putrid and that made our pass rush not even matter most the time lol

 

If you watch the tape he is fuckin whipping the guy in front of him consistently but if the coverage isn’t stopping quick passes and the interior rush isn’t collapsing the pocket, it’s easy for the QB to either throw within 1.5 seconds or step up into the pocket and avoid a free rusher, regardless whatever technique and athleticism got him past his lineman within 2 seconds its sometimes still not enough to get the sack. his pressure / win rates are pretty consistently good even in times he’s not getting sacks
