I understand your sentiment - not trying to dance around the fact that Trevor has not been good yet, but it’s also not a surprise to me that his development got fucked when most of his rookie contract was either Urban Meyer or play calling like this. He only got one year of a functional offense, no wonder he regressed

Like I think some QBs are just bad and you ain’t gonna polish a turd.

And then there’s some QBs who have all the potential and all the skillset to be good whose confidence and and their learning trajectory (which includes calming down cause they can trust the coach’s play calling to be effective, and trust that they aren’t getting sacked every time they call an aggressive play) gets ruined by coaches who don’t know what they’re doing

I feel like Trevor is in the latter category. Has he functionally been what he’s supposed to be, no, he hasn’t. Do the excuses explain ALL of his regression, no, he still has to stay as confident and calm as he can so that he can still play with good technique and not make dumb mistakes he should be above making. But I think the dominos started to fall because of bad coaching and he very well could’ve built on 2022 and been GOOD by now on a more functional team.
