I was so annoyed that my local music gear repair shop said they were closing and not taking any new work until August 12. Glad I emailed them anyway cause he said “actually we aren’t going out of town anymore, we just left that message up so I can catch up on backlogged work but I’ll make an exception for you” and I’m bringing it in next Tuesday

I just got my pedalboard back from them and set it up and while they did a lovely job repairing and rebuilding the pedalboard cosmetically, I’m still having a major grounding issue when I try to use my full set up with both amps. Weird ass buzzing and squeaking noises and the signal cutting out for no reason. Weirdly it still happens when I plug my guitar directly into that amps cable (with both amps too so it’s definitely not just an issue with an amp) and only goes away when I unplug and replug the amp-side of the cable…

making me think there’s some weird electrical issue that… stays in my cable until I disconnect it from both sides? wtf

By far the most annoying part of being an electric guitar musician who actually plays a lot live, is maintaining your gear. I have way more issues now than when I was in pandemic hibernation and playing a lot at home. There are so many things that can go wrong with a pedalboard and it takes forever to troubleshoot, and my guitar needs all new metal components cause they’re getting rusted out from how much I sweat on the damn thing lol
