oh twitter is really not fucking with it. like, obviously a lot of people posting pictures from the shows and excitement now about the tour (also a lot of "I'm going back to my toxic era" like y'all are telling on yourselves lol) but almost all of them that I am seeing are getting bombed with negative replies

I'm not really particularly interested in the Matt vs. Josh end of the argument because that was just weird on weird crime at some point. I think you both could apologize to one another.

The thing that I think is worth acknowledging though, is that from an outsider, Morgan's posts read really benignly and the immediate shift to "just because it's queer art doesn't mean it can't be criticized" felt very unearned in this conversation.

Josh, I appreciate you acknowledging that past conversations colored your response, because I do believe that is what happened here. And I don't know all of those conversations so I can't speak to them. But even just looking back again it's a glib comment of "You guys aren’t gay and in love and it shows." and then something like "well it really encapsulates this specific topic that is relevant to me."

I think that's perfectly fair and valid that art would hit people differently depending on their life circumstances, and I don't think it's inappropriate to acknowledge that. I really don't think much more than that was happening until it was.

I want to say that for my part in yesterday's conversation, I didn't take Morgan's initial response as "you can't criticize queer art if you're not queer" either, but I also don't have any outside context to other threads/posts because I stick to like 2 threads on chorus dot fm. I think I tried my best to clearly state what I meant in my opinions, and I would never criticize people for liking what they like or disrespect how people connect with art through their personal experiences. The conversation did turn weirdly personal and rough towards the end there and I'm still not quite sure how it got to that point.

Morgan's post about being gay and in love wasn't meant to be taken serious but it was and that(to me) is when it took a turned.

I think its best when things get heated, just to log off for a bit.
