I've been cuffed but not arrested

Was a safety call that resulted in me being in the hospital for suicide ideation etc etc, fun stuff. Didn't know they cuffed you for that transportation before that night

 

@Fucking Dustin at risk of starting another fight, i'm pretty annoyed by the way you treat things in the thread sometimes, like you're a moral arbiter or whatever. like you were busy and you weren't involved in the argument and you didn't really need to say anything about it IMO

or if you had a *real* problem with me or matt you can talk to us privately. coming back the next day feels pretty performative to me

not a coincidence that matt is often times involved in shit like that that goes on for too long either but yeah I was being stubborn and should have walked away multiple times like when I said i would

imo the problem was that specific users decided to gatekeep how people should feel about music or their opinions on music based on their sexual identity or preference, which is fucked up, but doubly fucked up because i think by now everyone knows the people who post in here specifically, though we dunk and clown on eachother all the time, are all coming from good positive places, we're all supportive and i think all good hearted people who support and lift up other members of this thread, and to suddenly be made to feel like i'm a bad person or maybe 'not an ally' for having a negative opinion on a queer person's music is just dumb as fuck. i don't see the same people lighting the torches in the album's thread where a lot of the same opinions are being shared, so why do it here, with people you know are good natured?

i didnt participate in yesterday's nonsense, but i think there was one clear side in the wrong, and thats all im going to say on it and kinda wished it would have been left in yesterday but, here we are.

A lot of times I wait because I want to process it all and don't want my first reaction to be my only reaction/say things I don't mean deep down, but yeah I shouldn't treat things like a moral arbiter, I'm certainly not one and that's kinda what I was getting at by saying "not trying to be thread dad", my opinion is not more important than anyone else's. I think it's just the fact that it ended the way it did that made me feel the need to say something. But yeah idk if I should've said anything or not, I felt the urge to but maybe I shouldn't have. I feel an urge when I see someone being spoken over (which I noticed there) because I have like a weird dumb hope that it can give them a window to get a chance to say something but I also don't ever wanna put them on the spot. I'm trying to figure out how to handle this shit like anyone else but it does feel like it's become so much more frequent lately and it feels like serious conversations we all had previously went in one ear and out the other with just about everyone in terms of our interactions with each other

it's funny that theres a more serious conversation and then mark and pat are on a little side quest here

 

i think mark feeling comfortable about talking about a physical condition of his is more important than re-litigating a 24 hour fight where both sides (myself included) were acting out in the wrong but okay

 

i also don't really know who exactly was being spoken over yesterday. didn't really seem like anyone involved was backing down from their points

 

Yeah, I wasn't involved the other day and saw what it was about, but I agree with what Murph said. I hate arguments like that. I like music that I enjoy, I do not give a shit who the artist is or what they identify as, etc. etc.

 

I guess I just don't think there needs to be a referendum on thread conduct or relitigating arguments (which Pat knows all about, as a lawyer), I was pissed at matt and i'm sure he was pissed at me, it's fine and we're adults. i'm not gonna yell at him about it anymore lol
