been on a recording tear lately. half the album is done instrumentally. i might pause guitars and focus on vocals for these tracks for a bit since once we are in the apartment (month and a half from now) i won’t be able to record vocals for three months until we’re in the new house. and then i’ll hopefully have the guitar for the second half finished while we’re in the apartment and can knock out vocals for that half once we’re in the house.

weirdly the mastering chain levels for the track i finished today was, like, wildly low compared to other tracks. individual track levels were basically consistent with other tracks though. didn’t see any differences in chains/plugins. funky but oh well, i had plenty of wiggle room to adjust stuff to bring it close to the other songs and this is just a rough mix/master, whoever i hire to do that stuff will be able to figure it out much better than me. just weird it’s so much lower on this one single song lol.
