It’s like, yeah Baltimore / DC is the same AREA and similar climate (although Baltimore is where “real winter” begins heading north while DC is where “some years it doesn’t even snow + the heat is really SWAMPY and thick” begins heading south)

but the culture of each city couldn’t be any more opposite, in large part due to capitalism. Maybe at one point they were similar in that regard but like, for example DC might be known for hardcore punk in the 80s but post gentrification ALL of those people would live in Baltimore instead if that was now lol.

For real lmao. It’s actually kinda surprising how much like Florida DC can feel in the hotter weeks of the summer, only difference is you actually get a reprieve and it cools off in between those hot weeks haha

Which part of Maryland? Western and southern parts of the state have a southern accent. The middle is just pretty middle ground American cause of all the transplants. Anywhere north of Baltimore though and they start talking like DelCo PA mixed with a slight tinge of yinzer haha

 

I lived in Maryland for like 2.5 years in the mid-late 90's and I loved it. Haven't been back to that part of the country since

A good bit of Maryland has nice suburbia with cute trees and cottage style houses. I will say that’s not THAT unique, a lot of New England has that, a lot of the upper Midwest has that I discovered on tour, and if you switch “cottage style” with “colonial” Charlotte and Atlanta have a lot of that.
