Doesn’t matter anyways cause if you haven’t been to a festival in NYC you haven’t been to a real festival

 

It's not even a festival if it doesn't come from the Festival borough of NYC

 

I did a few years of warped and it was fun for what it was at the time, but I definitely got tired of it by my fourth year and my taste in music also started venturing away from that scene so 2013 was the last one I went to

 

Ive only been to Cornerstone(Jesus Fest for emo kids) and Warped.

 

I feel like I didn't get interested in the music at Cornerstone until I quit being Christian

Went to a ton of Warped Tours, went to that one festival Slipknot threw, a few radio station festivals and Plano Centre fests (real ones remember), a few Fun Fun Fun Fests which was the best IMO, Austin City Limits and now Lolla

Was very close to going to Coachella once or twice but couldn't justify it

 

That reminds me, I did go to some Christian festival in 2010 where I saw August Burns Red, The Almost, Skillet, The Devil Wears Prada, and some of Dustin Kensrue back when I believed in that shit

 

Oh and like 4 SXSWs which is weird to count since it's really a ton of small venues having shows but I count it

 

I think I only went to warped once. Not worth it. We got there like an hour after it started and missed 2 bands we wanted to see.

 

Warped Tour every year from 2004-2009, mostly stopped going because the local change in venue was miserable, went to Bamboozle a few years, Firefly Festival twice (camped as well), and theres always an annual festival on long island I go to every year but its a one day thing so unfortunately by grimace standards it doesnt count and i should feel bad about it :(

 

A thing I'm excited about re: Lollapalooza is that we are staying at a hotel right next to the park that it's at and don't have to worry about transportation while also being near other Chicago stuff to have fun with

What held me back from Coachella so many times is how far out of the way it is from everything and basically forces you to use the campgrounds

 

The summer I went to Christ Fest, Underoath had just released They're Only Chasing Safety. It was awesome

 

what years did you go to firefly?

 

2021 and 2022 when it moved to September post covid

 

I never got into that album tbh, but I kinda miss when that band used to write cool shit

 

Did WWWY twice and adjacent fest and had a lot of fun at both!

but my body was broken for a month after them lol

 

oh sick I worked it in 2016 (working it also doesn’t count cause I stayed in a hotel and didn’t really watch any bands but I did have to listen to blinken 82 with Skiba while I was sick with food poisoning)

 

Lost in the Sound of Separation was the last album of theirs I listened to but Define the Great Line still gets put in rotation from time to time.
