They were interested in Reid during that draft and I believe they were when he hit free agency too.

Sydney Brown is not a serious option to compete for the starting job. He missed a lot of last offseason returning from the ACL tear and was the fifth safety on the depth chart behind Avonte Maddox and Tristin McCollum as backups.

I think he should compete with McCollum and Lewis Cine for the top backup role (McCollum and Cine should be competing for roster spots), but they definitely need a starter now

But I imagine they’re going to work on an extension for Reed Blankenship so I have a tough time seeing them spending big on a free agent like Justin Reid, especially when the owner said they’re playing the comp pick game this offseason

I think they go for a cheap veteran on a one-year deal and maybe even draft a rookie
