thinking I might try and hit up some concerts next year. been a very long time. I legit don't remember the last one I went to.

I think the last concert I went to was Warped Tour in 2013

 

only thing that's stopping me is having to get down into Houston during rush hour for a weekday concert. we occasionally get something good in the Woodlands but it's very rare and it's usually a huge show at the pavilion.

at the risk of starting the concert price conversation again and being told we should all just go see local bands play or $15, i will say going to concerts just overall is not something that 'excites' me the way it used to. on top of the cost, the hassle in getting to most places, getting home late on worknights, the added costs of food and drink, it more often than not feels like a chore than an entertainment opportunity these days.

edit: also the absolutely insufferable other people at shows these days who do not know how to act in public.

 

the only time I've been to Houston was seeing The Wonder Years at White Oak Music Hall in February 2020

however the show tomorrow night is only $25 and its a friday so i will probably go and consume between 1 and 50 peebers

I went to a symphony in Houston and it was great

 

One of the best parts about being a massive kpop fan is that kpop shows almost never have openers and almost always start exactly on time so I'm in bed at the exact same time I would be otherwise

 

I dont go to shows really unless mama flood wants to see someone. Last show was probably LS Dunes a couple years ago.

 

i've got Hot Mulligan next week and I just bought tickets for the Yellowcard/Wonder Years tour that's in Tulsa in 2 weeks

only $50 all in for that one and basically these seats

 

you're absolutely right, tbh. there's just been an insane amount of anniversary tours over the last couple of years of some of my favorite albums and I'm starting to get really sad that I've missed them haha.

 

I think Ok Go is playing here on Sunday, if i get some kind of coupon or free ticket thing in my email from that venue I may go lol

 

I'm trying to figure out if I've been to any since 2013 other than like, just free live music somewhere and I really don't think there is. That was the year after I got married and we were so broke there was no way we were going to shows and by the time we had money to spend on shows we had kids and the local venue that I always went to was in the process of closing and is now gone.

My choices for shows now are like whatever bands come to our Civic Center which is usually older legacy acts or traveling to the city, SPAC, or out of state which you can imagine is not something I want to do.

 

Same honestly. I’ll go to the occasional show. I’d like to see Petey. But for the most part there has to be a reason other than just a band I like is in town.

The Wonder Years are back for the 85th time with no new music and openers I don’t care about? Pass.
