What I posted in the Jimmy thread is a bit of an exaggeration (but also true) but man it just gets me how easy it is to rile up people over an extremely mild band (I like them but it just feels SO weird to get that wound up about a band with that kind of sound)

People are way weirder about JEW than Coheed on this website.

 

Not comparing the sound, comparing how absolutely apocalyptic Coheed fans get if you say anything even remotely critical of the band, which I think kinda sucks.

 

Yes, I interact with many many diehard Coheed fans in places outside of Chorus.FM

 

the coheed weirdness is like, self-hating coheed fans. *band does something extremely fun and sort of experimental* "jeez why dont they try something new for a change"

 

That's fair and I'm pretty lukewarm on Coheed but yeah the sound is a factor to me. Coheed sounds polarizing and sounds like they could evoke love or hate. Jimmy sounds grocery store safe and getting up in arms to defend that feels especially weird to me

I think if JEW wasn’t the first concert I booked and I didn’t have that emotional attachment to them, I’d probably like them but nowhere near the same level. Prob wouldn’t even follow their thread lol. They def get a cheat boost in my rankings.
