My takeaway from this Raiders win was going to be “we had to work way too hard to beat an awful team” and “it’s clear coach doesn’t trust Trevor right now, he had him throwing to running backs half the game”

then I was reminded the team reported before the game that he had an illness, and it was confirmed he was throwing up all night and morning, so that really changes the narrative for me. To hang tough and have game tying and overtime game winning drives when you have the flu is impressive no matter how you accomplished it, and Coen was actually being really smart to protect him as much as possible.

there were times in the game he did look really lackluster but it goes to show we don’t always know the full narrative of why someone is struggling, he ultimately managed to stay poised and be an effective game manager. And after that ugly goal line INT on a broken play when he should’ve threw it away… he avoided any further errors.

Thats as much as I can ask from a player who was sick and could’ve missed the game, and what I would hope to see from someone getting paid as much as he is.

 

Also can’t be understated how much our offense is hurting with injuries. No Travis Hunter, no Brenton Strange, no BTJ second half of the game, no Hunter Long second half the game… his receivers in the 4th quarter and overtime were literally all backups, Parker Washington and Dyami Brown are two low-end WR3s and our fucking TE3 Johnny Mundt lmao. We had the literal preseason second-team out there.

Trevor had the *flu* and had *0 starting WRs or TEs* to throw to and still was finding targets and moving the ball so we could win.

Today was much better. The metro was back and on time as always, I got all my food and drink in my mouth and no one damaged my car :)

I know Pats fans are mad but I don’t think Phillips for a 3rd made a ton of sense for the Pats. I think they’re looking at more of a depth target than a starter.
