It’s not about that, it’s about people are very irresponsible with the cybersecurity of personal laptops (see: torrent software lol) in a way that can introduce breaches into a corporate system, that are far more likely to be tested by hackers and eventually exploited than a personal computer normally would, because corporations have way more money to steal lol

 

lmao so we paid off a loan recently from when we replaced our roof after moving in and every fucking credit agency I have an account with is blowing up my email basically saying "why the fuck did you close your account you fucking idiot!? YOUR SCORE WILL BE NEGATIVELY IMPACTED"

It definitely depends on the industry re: using personal computers at work. I could see Mark and people at his company using personal computers for work and being fine. If I had an office to go to and brought in a personal computer for work use I'd be removed on the spot cuz my industry is very different in that regard.

 

Like if a cybersecurity guy notices torrent software on the company system you bet your ass he’s walking across campus and asking questions to find out who the fuck did that lol. That could be his ass and his job on the line

BYOD is a very common practice but it has to be done right. Many companies have absolutely no idea how to do it, and with Covid I am not surprised at all that so many companies just sent people home and told them to use their own equipment because they were so ill-prepared for it

Yeah we heavily benefitted at my work from moving to WFH a year before COVID and being fully prepared for what that entailed, but so many others were caught off guard including other teams of ours

Credit scores are made up and only really benefit banks and lenders. Having a good credit score isn’t “I have no debt” it’s “I’m paying off my interest”. Very important distinction lol. If you’re not paying anybody any interest that’s not helping Mr. hedge fund manager now is it
