No one is monitoring your activity unless given a reason. Yes they absolutely log it, but no one is looking at those logs unless being told to do so for some reason and all it’ll show is that you visited this website, can’t see what you’re posting unless they actually went to this site and then they’d have to try and match your account and posts. It’s not worth it to 99% of businesses lol

 

No one is actively reviewing it but it’s definitely been used against low performers as another nail in the coffin (time spent on random sites as opposed to working )

 

If you have a small IT team or it’s outsourced to a third party they’re absolutely not looking at the logs lol

like I'm sorry man but if the next man up out performs you (substantially), you lose touches/playing time. simple as that. will never understand teams not riding the hot hand because they feel they need to get something out of their investment.

 

I may have told this story before, but when we came back to the office after covid, most of us brought personal laptops with us, so that we could actually attend virtual meetings since our work computers were terrible for that at the time (still are, really, but they're much better).

One day IT shows up to talk to me and they're asking if I downloaded anything recently (no), what about on your personal laptop (no). Can they see it (no....?) and then I realized that I had a torrent program that was auto starting and seeding some random album. I just deleted the program and we all moved on with our lives, but some alarm bells must've gone off over there for them to walk across campus about it

I assume it has to do with it being a college so we have thousands of students on their own personal computers all day every day

 

sounds like an IT department skill issue not to be able to handle people's personal laptops on their networks
