Really my experience lines up with Ken's. Performance is fine, I just hate the design and I myself am performing slower because things aren't where they would naturally be and there's more garbage I won't use in my way than ever before.

 

Obviously I would not want a computer with the power of a windows 95 PC, but I would take the look of the icons/desktop, etc., etc. if I had the option. And I'm sure I could do that if I really wanted to, but I'm not going through that trouble

I think when I was on XP I did something to give a 95/98 overlay

 

I did it once on my laptop at some point. Maybe windows 7? I can't remember, but it slowed everything down so I just took it off

 

My biggest pet peeve with Windows is that you have Windows x PRO edition, and you include shit like Spotify and Xbox Game Bar in the default OS. I know there's Enterprise edition that doesn't have that stuff but unless you're a giant company it's not cost effective whatsoever to use Enterprise. In short, ligma

XP and 7 were my favorites, but that was really just when I was on a PC the most with my gamez and shenaniz.

Windows 7 was very solid. Rarely ever had an issue

The most recent PC I got with Windows 11 has actually been wonderful but I was able to exclude so much bloatware before I got it

My current work PC is the one that's been a pain which makes sense, work IT controls all the settings and I can't optimize shit for myself

My third PC I think is still on 10, eventually I'll do something about it

 

i am only a PC user from the hours of 8:30am - 5:30pm M-F with the exception of a (1) hour daily lunch break.

 

8 was one of the few OSes that I just totally skipped lol

 

Yeah we put our own image on all our PC's that doesn't have any bloatware. Just annoys the hell out of me that the Pro edition has it by default lol

 

I could be in the minority, but I don't use any desktop/laptop outside of working hours 99.9% of the time. I just use my phone if I need to do something "computer" related.

I have 2 gaming PCs and then a MacBook for music stuff and general use outside of work
