His mental mistakes are bleeding into his mechanics waaaaaaaaaay too much. If his issues didn't also cause him to ground ball half of his passes then it'd be whatever. 4/7 games of a sub-60% completion percentage are bad but especially when you see where a lot of those throws ended up going.

Oklahoma game was definitely his best in 2025. He definitely has the team as a whole letting him down (OL is worse and WRs are doing him no favors ESPECIALLY Ryan Wingo who was supposed to be the breakout WR1 with Arch). But I think it's a lot more than just being mentally off because it's bleeding into how he attempts throws at all. Quinn Ewers made mental mistakes and he didn't miss nearly as often

He still could be fine, I just don't think it's a given at all and the red flags are RED and I don't see the team adjusting to something friendlier to him due to the insistence of a pro style offense

Ewers had one legitimately very good receiver and one that at least is a track star that could turn arch’s overthrown passes into catches. and decent running backs. like, didn’t texas set a program record last year for players drafted from a class? i think it’s easy to go “arch sat for ewers and now he’s struggling, he’s worse than ewers who wasn’t good” and that’s fair but i also think the team’s situation is much different

 

It is for sure, and if the ball was more often within 5 yards of those worse players I’d be in full agreement

It’s the throws in the dirt that get me more than airballs
