Do we think he's actually bad, or is he just like, completely lost in the process and just needs a certain kind of coach.

    I think it's a bit of both

In 2024 when Ewers was hurt and he came in (or came in in garbage time) he looked totally different. Yes it was against bad teams. But he was hitting his targets, putting players in position to succeed, something he has not done against bad teams this year at all. His accuracy wasn't perfect but he still showed a ton of promise.

Now he's missing everyone badly, his vertical accuracy is nonexistent and it's a total crapshoot if the ball gets anywhere near his target. His skill position players are worse but his favorite target in 2024, Ryan Wingo, is still there.

I think Sarkisian is part of the problem, he's giving Arch harder looks to make, but not THAT much harder where we should see this much regression. Not backfilling the OL and skill positions are a problem too. But the eye test shows all the issues are basic mechanical issues and mental issues that are just...how to play QB and it's hard to see that as not Arch's fault.

With that said, even though I think Sark is part of the problem I definitely do not want to move on from Sark. A lot of teams would kill for a coach like Sark.

why wouldn't he? They have a good respected coach (assuming he doesn't like, take the florida job) and more money than you'd think

He's said many times he'd like to fly more under the radar and I think he's having culture shock over how big the role of Texas QB is (which he's kinda dumb for not realizing before now) and it shows in his play

I think it'd be unsurprising if he went to Tulane pocketing the NIL money he's already made and having somewhere he can easily rebound and then transfer again after to a bigger program

Becuase he's one of the biggest names in college football. Tons of teams will throw money or whatever it takes to get him at their school.

It doesn't matter where he goes, he wont be able to fly under the radar.

I think it's being diminished just how bad he is. I don't think he wins the starting job at a lot of P4 schools at this point. And he has to start now and show improvement against teams he can possibly beat or he's never making the NFL.

Funniest possible result is that he takes the Iowa State job when Rocco Becht leaves

I've never been more upset watching a QB and I watched the entire Brian Hoyer vs Chiefs playoff game (and on that note the entire Bill O'Brien era)

I do think even outside of the media aspect, being a Manning is hurting him a ton because if he weren't expected to be a Manning, and weren't being told/taught by his family to run a pro style offense, he could probably do a run first full RPO scheme like Ehlinger and Ewers did and actually be successful in college because he has some LEGS but he'd be totally unprepared for the NFL and go undrafted as a QB if that were the case

But it looks like it'll be the case right now so fuck it why not
