got passed up on the manager position by someone who is 25 that has been at the bank half as long as i have. cannot see how their resume would possibly be better than mine. i didn't even get a chance to interview with the hiring manager, who was my manager when i first started at the bank, after the HR recruiter person said i did a great job with the first interview and that they'd be fast-tracking me for a hiring manager interview

have to believe it's either a) the hiring manager is just gonna fake when i talk to them occasionally once a week or so and just doesn't actually like me lol or b) they didn't proceed with me because i made it clear i would be taking parental leave soon, which is illegal lol. it simply isn't because the person who got hired, who is on my current team, is more qualified than me.

 

so goddamn annoying to have this shit happen after busting my ass here for years while they treat us like shit

Sorry to hear that brother. I know the feeling after being told, basically, "lol no" when I asked for a raise last October and it took them nearly 6 months to give me an answer

It's definitely that second thing, which is super duper illegal, but also, i'm begging the thread to always assume your company will do the illegal thing. (Not saying Pat did anything wrong or was naive or whatever)
