also asking cause depending on where you’re at… Greenpoint Pizza was fucking crazy good when I was there last lol. Prince Street Pizza was my favorite but that’s Sicilian style, the classic NY slice is served perfectly at Greenpoint and that was like, comparing a 9.9/10 to a 9.7/10 lol. Both amazing pizza.

haven’t been to enough places to claim anything about it but I do know it was rated like 4.7 or 4.8 stars on Google and that was why I went there, so the locals seem to love it.

Can ya'll weigh in on something for me

So at my office, the higher ups frequently host guests, typically hotel owners they're trying to schmooze and whatnot. They always provide a catered lunch just for the folks participating in the meeting (anywhere from 3-10 people), and the rest of us in the office (anywhere from 30-50 people) are just watching them all eat the free food in our open kitchen area.

For comparison, when I worked at the cardiology office, the drug reps would very frequently buy lunch for the entire office (around 200 people) because they wanted to schmooze the doctors. Our CEO only agreed to let them in the door to get face time with the doctors if they provided lunch for everyone lol.

Now I don't particularly care about what's happening now as I've seen the lunches they're providing and it's usually from this caterer that isn't very good, or shitty local chain pizza, but I'm obviously not above free food either lol.

So ya'll, is it rude that they're just providing lunch to the small(ish) group of people? I totally get the distinction between the two scenarios I laid out, the drug reps paying for it vs. our company, it just seems.. tacky?

My company frequently pays for lunch for in office client visits and they always over order and whatevers left is always put out in the breakroom for anyone to help themselves to.

i think thats a fair compromise but the lunches are also held privately so nobody would know theres food if they wanted to keep it hush.

hosting a private lunch and eating out in the open does feel lame.

 

I think that's my problem with it. They have the meetings in our big conference room that is in the same open kitchen area, and instead of eating the lunch in the conference room behind closed doors, they always invite everyone to eat at all the kitchen tables

 

I think I'm also the one most annoyed by it because my office is closet to the kitchen so I have to hear all these dumb fucks blow smoke up everyone's ass
