As a Caleb fantasy guy I want him to excel

gonna give Caleb five years before I decide on if he sucks or not

 

he has looked better but it is just an eye test thing. nothing looks easy. everything looks frantic with him. part of that is the line but part of it is also him.

 

I thought he was a bust throughout the draft process so I’m calling it now as it supports my ego and football acumen.

Nah, he might end up fine, he just doesn’t seem to have any real feel for what’s going on around him and is just throwing the ball as hard as he can wherever every play lol

 

why would caleb williams commit an offensive penalty on 1st down and then call a run on 1st & 20 and then fumble the pass that he threw and commit another offensive penalty before avoiding aiden hutchinson in the pocket, scrambling and throwing an interception that had to be caught like this:

yeah dude turns into a golden retriever and all over the place when he’s being pressured, but I’ll give him the benefit for now since it is his second coach in his second year with an oline built like Swiss cheese

 

i personally find it frustrating (i'm not grumpy, don't say that) that we all pretty much agree that espn hot take garbage SUCKS and lots of people here are still doing it

i really strongly disagree - not reaching expectations doesn't equal bust to me. a bust is Jamarcus Russell

@CarpetElf talked about it in the predraft process but his pressure to sack ratio was pretty terrible in USC/OU. It lines up with what you're saying for sure. He's playing very frantically.
