I got a rejection email today which honestly is a step forward because it's at least nice to know it's not gonna happen, but I'm also just like how much of this is me actually not being qualified and how much of it is some bullshit AI filtering

 

im just tired of the narrative that we 'cant talk about football'. its nonsense. if you dont have time to keep up with a thread due to your constant busy life or schedule thats totally fair! but are we supposed to just not post incase people wanna talk about football?

I don't know what to do about jobs anymore. I feel like I'd have to change careers in order to make enough where switching would be worthwhile in terms of my future.

Part of me loves that because in spite of the bit I do love my job, but it also feels like saying, "I'm good staying stagnant until I retire" which I guess is exactly what I'm saying.

 

unfortunately I don't even think its always the companies, it's the HR platforms. I'm pretty sure that Greenhouse uses AI. it sucks because those platforms are awesome as an applicant because you don't have to fill out much. Just remember having to use workday for every application and wanting to kms after copying the same thing 10 times in a sitting. Totally understand not wanting to use AI but it really helped me word things to get passed the screening software.

 

Okay so you're not necessarily wrong

But when you wanna talk football and you have to go through 10 pages of shitposts to find out if something was shared already and then if you share it without doing that everyone's like "READ THE THREAD" it is discouraging so I feel like there's a good middle ground that can be found to at least not totally run people off from posting football, and also enforce that people don't have to do the disclaimer shit as well

TO BE FAIR - People who post something that was already posted (because they can't keep up) generally get told to keep up with the thread (which I don't mind, it's funny most of the time), but not doing that might encourage what you're suggesting here
